GetReal Institute

The GetReal Institute reached out to us with a request to reevaluate their online presence which was separated across several disparate sites. We suggested a staged approach to help bring their platforms under one roof, whilst also reinventing their whole brand at the same time.

Background

The GetReal Institute is a European non-profit working to make real-world evidence a routine part of healthcare decision-making, bringing together industry, regulators, academia and patient organisations. Alongside its core work it runs an education arm, The GetReal Academy, delivering training to professionals across the sector.

The Institute also provides tools and guidance, but they were all presented across several separate websites.

problem

Their sites had each been developed over many years as their own entities, by different team members. This was leading to inconsistencies across their brand look-and-feel, and made it hard for a user to keep track of which platform they should be on.

Also, their eLearning offering was housed on a third-party site, whilst their memberships were handled with another. Keeping track of management and eCommerce was becoming a headache.

The old setup had become a fractured experience and just as importantly, a fractured brand. This was leading towards declining engagement from potential members and visitors alike.

It was time to bring it all together to be more streamlined for the user, entirely consistent as a brand, but it would also make management and maintenance far simpler too.

Solution

With a large task ahead, it seemed like the best approach was a staged one: get their core, public-facing site developed and live, and then move from off-shoot to off-shoot in turn, to bring them into the fold.

We undertook a comprehensive audit of their brand and their sites, picking out the ‘must-remains’ from the ‘no-longer-needs’. Stripping things back to basics and building from the ground up allowed us clear space to develop a far more engaging and future-focused brand.

We chose to update their logo, rather than start completely afresh. Through simple tightening-up of the key ingredients, we enhanced their old logo with a more contemporary, cleaner style.

To go with the logo update, and to bring their homepage ‘shop window’ to life, we did away with their old informational ‘tagline’. We replaced it with a far more emotive and thought-provoking key message that wedded their focus on promoting real-world evidence, with their desire to drive towards better patient outcomes: Real-world Evidence. Real-world Impact.

We then developed a set of supporting statements that promoted their values far more clearly, and paired each one with candid, lifestyle images of positivity across patients and key stakeholders alike.

And to get attendees at their 2026 Annual Conference really excited, we produced a short unveiling sting video to be shown right at the start of the event, therefore setting the perfect scene for things to come.

Outcome

The feedback from the conference was overwhelmingly positive, and was highly successful in injecting a new lease of life to the brand, setting the scene for a new era of growth and prosperity for the Institute, its members and the patients who stand to benefit from a more widespread adoption of real-world evidence.

With the GetReal Academy already in development, we are progressing with the 2nd key stage, that can be simply bolted-on the new platform once completed.
